Review - "ZENITH"

"ZENITH (The Androma Saga #1)" by Sasha Alsberg & Lindsay Cummings

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

There is darkness sweeping across the stars.

Most know Androma Racella as the Bloody Baroness: a powerful mercenary whose reign of terror stretches across the Mirabel Galaxy. To those aboard her fearsome glass starship the Maurader, she’s just Andi, their captain and protector.

When a routine mission goes awry, the all-girl crew’s resilience is tested as they find themselves in a most unfamiliar place: at the mercy of a sadistic bounty hunter connected to Andi’s past and a harrowing betrayal.

Meanwhile, on the far side of the galaxy, a ruthless ruler waits in the shadows of the planet Xen Ptera, biding her time to exact revenge for the destruction of her people. The final pieces of her deadly plan are about to fall into place, unleashing a plot that will tear Mirabel in two.

Andi and her crew embark on a dangerous, soul-testing journey that could restore order to their ship—or just as easily start a war that will devour worlds. As the Marauder hurtles towards the unknown, and Mirabel hangs in the balance, the only thing certain is that in a galaxy run on lies and illusion, no one can be trusted.

First of all, I wanna say that I love Sasha's BookTube channel and her videos. She is hilarious, down to earth and not afraid to speak her mind. However, I am trying to be honest ... no, I am honest when writing reviews, and like her, I will tell you my honest opinion.

Zenith has a promising premise and overall intriguing characters. Nevertheless, the story was too short, there was almost no characterization and everything fell flat. The e-book has 62 pages (and it is only available in this edition for the time being). I mean there is just no enough space to put all the information into. So why not publish it when it's done? And not in 7 (I think ?) parts? Also, the writing was kinda .. meh. Which is forgivable considering Sasha is a newbie (although Cummings isn't).
I will read the other parts, eventually, but not because Zenith was any "good" (hence the 2 stars, duh) - I just want to see how Sasha's skills develop and how the story goes on.
